Adult and Family Services
Lighten Your Load – A Laundromat readiness program providing clients with an opportunity to use the washers and dryers at the Baldwin Center to launder their clothing.
Focus: HOPE Food Distribution Program – Once a month, volunteers deliver and distribute staple food items from Focus: HOPE to 151 senior citizens that live at or below the federal poverty level.
Holiday Store Program – 300 low-income families qualified through the Pontiac Clearinghouse (a collaborative group of Pontiac agencies) to receive a new sweatshirt or sweatpants and a gift item, as well as new underwear, socks, gloves and a hat for each family member.
Pharmacy Assistant – This program provides prescription coverage for low-income clients who are unable to afford necessary medications.
Alcoholic’s Anonymous – Meetings are on-site Tuesday, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Clothing Closet Program – This program provided for 12,500 low income individuals and families with clean clothing, sheets, blankets (in good condition) and small house hold items: free of charge.
Baby Food/Diaper Program – Donations of baby food and formula are passed on to clients who need temporary assistance feeding and diapering their babies.
Client Needs – In cooperation with area human service agencies, we help families and individuals with rent, utility bills, and other housing and transportation needs. In 2007, we helped 74 clients with over $10,163 was distributed.
Warming Center – During the winter months Hope, Hospitality, & Warming Center, a separate nonprofit organization, operates out of The Baldwin Center providing overnight shelter seven days a week. |
